When You Need Replacement Splints:
Most customers have enough splints in their original kit to complete treatment. You'll need replacement tape if:
- You're changing splints more frequently than every day
- You're active in sports and wearing them out, or getting them dirty
- You made mistakes early in treatment and used extra splints learning proper technique
- You're extending treatment beyond 10 weeks on your doctor's recommendation
Why This Specific Splint:
The Mallet Pro splint is a splint designed to maintain extension while also allowing for intact sensation on the tip of the finger and the ability to change the splint with avoidance of finger flexion.
Application Reminder:
Wrap at least twice around your finger - three times if you're playing sports or doing active work. The tape must support your finger both above and below the joint. This should be done after you shower (with the splint on) so that the finger doesn’t flex.
